Japan earthquake/tsunami relief donations Print E-mail
Written by Rev. Ken Yamada
Sunday, 20 March 2011

Many people have asked how they can donate to Japan earthquake and tsunami relief. Our Higashi Honganji denomination has many temples in Japan. In the area of Japan hit by the recent calamity, there are approximately one hundred Higashi Honganji temples. A full assessment of the damage is not yet available, but preliminary reports indicate heavy damage or destruction. Our Higashi Honganji headquarters in Kyoto has started a fund to help these temples. More information will be made available shortly. If you would like to donate to this fund, you may send a check to our temple payable to "Higashi Honganji North America District" and indicate the check is for tsunami relief. Funds collected will be sent to Japan. Thank you for your concern and support.
